Submission Guidelines
How to send your article:
- Please submit your article submissions via e-mail to Diannemo@gmail.com
- You may submit your article in the body of the e-mail or as a Word attachment.
Article Guidelines:
- Articles should generally be brief, between 300 to 800 words.
- Although we reserve the right to edit submissions for length or to suit the tone of the magazine or to be web friendly, all efforts will be made to preserve the content and tone of your submission.
- Please use a crisp and concise internet style of writing.
- Articles should be lively, useful and intelligent.
- Some articles may not be used on the site due to suitability or to duplication of content.
- The site is intended to provide information and encouragement for women to live their best lives after 60.
- Articles should not promote political or commercial agendas.
- You are responsible for any copyright issues that may arise from your article.
- The site does not currently pay for articles. We will help you to promote your reputation, public awareness of your specialty and your products, books or activities.
Image Guidelines:
- You are not required to send a main image to accompany your article, although you may if you have one. We often use professionally photographed stock photos.
- If you choose to include a photo to illustrate the article, the image should be a minimum of 363 pixels in width and 263 pixels in height (5.042 inches by 3.653 inches) at 72 ppi
- Horizontally oriented images work the best, as main images on the site must be horizontal.
- Vertical images are acceptable if they can be easily cropped to a somewhat horizontal image without losing too much of the image. We may be able to include additional photographs within the body of the article.
- Images can be sent in any commonly used format, preferably .gif, .jpg or .png
- Please try to keep the image size under 1mb.
Authorship
- If you wish to, please include a brief description of your specialty, honors, and books written. We will try to include all the important elements.
- If you would like to include a link to your web site, we ask that you include a link to www.BestAfter60.com on your site as well.If we provide a link to your web site, we request that you post the following on it:
"Please read an article I've written and others of interest at www.BestAfter60.com" - Please indicate if you wish to be listed as the author of the article or if you wish to have an organization listed or no author identified.
- You may include a headshot of yourself if you wish to have it included with the author description at the bottom of the article.
- Headshot images may be small but should be a minimum of 100 pixels in height and width. They will appear in a uniformly small size on the site.
